Deceased: Sawtooth, Garfield Grove

The Sawtooth Tree was 21 feet in diameter level at the high side ground, 19.5 feet diameter at chest height, and 233 feet tall. It was on an old, no longer maintained trail in the barely accessible and very steep Garfield Grove. Its bole broke off about 10 feet from the ground in 2020 in the Castle mega-fire that passed through the area. It's now just a stump, with the carcass of the tree lying downhill from it. Which is a shame, because few other sequoias were as visually stunning as this one.
