Pioneer Cabin in Calaveras North Grove fell in 2017
The Tumbled Twins in Long Meadow Grove fell in 2011 upon the paved trail through the grove effectively blocking it. The trail was relaid and rebuilt featuring the pictured walkway running parallel to the trees carcasses and then a third similarly large sized tree fell across both the new walkway and the twins crosswise in late 2019 once again blocking the trail. Finally to add insult to injury a couple years later the Windy Fire subsequently burned the whole area.
The Wawona Tree in Mariposa Grove fell in 1969 ending many decades of its reign as the most photographed tunnel tree.
