#50 New York, Calaveras Grove
The New York Tree is 27.7 feet in diameter level at the high side ground, 22.9 feet diameter at chest height, and a massive 93.25 feet in ground circumference. With its huge basil flare it turns in big volume numbers, and being on the far side of the Big Trees Creek, it undoubtedly lives for the most part in peaceful solitude. It is one of the largest in an area ripe with prime examples of the species. It does have a lot of burn on its base, showing more damage than most, but seems healthy in spite of it.
