The #71 Tree in Nelder Grove is 20.8 feet in diameter at the ground, 17.1 feet diameter at chest height, and nearly 265 feet tall. The bottom of the basin around the Nelder Tree holds a great concentration of impressive giants, which luckily is wet and protected enough to have nearly evaded all of the damage of the latest fire season. It is one of those locations where the sequoia grouping in a small area is as good as you can find anywhere, a sight not to be missed.
