Calaveras #49, Calaveras Grove
The #49 Tree (identified as such from the 1924 O. M. Evans tree survey) is 26.1 feet in diameter level at the high side ground, 22.4 feet diameter at chest height, 86 feet in ground circumference, and 262.5 feet tall. It has a very steep lean toward the creek; hopefully, its huge base is big enough to remain under the center of gravity of the rest of the tree and keep it stable in spite of its tilt.
