On labor day weekend we went back to Mountain Home Grove to just wander among and check up on some of the well known trees up there and see how they are doing since the fire a few years ago.
Above is a pic of the line of demarcation where the fire was stopped up near the Bonsai and Mothman trees.
Below are some recent pics of some of the large ones in there that were damaged in the Castle fire.
Former Bonsai Tree
Summit Road Tree
Genesis
We looked in at the Hidden Falls area and our favorite place in the stream where the water falls over a fallen giant Sequoia carcass.
On the way to the Genesis tree we passed by the Dogwood Meadow Double Trees and one nearby that we call West of Eden.
Some of the other interesting trees we saw: Lady Alice, & Merle F. Harp in Balch Park, and elsewhere in Mountain Home: Long Arm, Pack Station Post, and a couple pics of one of the most interesting, the Burnt to a Twist tree.
