Large Upper Side Burn Tree, Packsaddle Grove
This tree is 79 feet 10 inches in circumference at the ground, 20.5 feet diameter level at the high ground, 18.1 feet in diameter at chest height, and 220 feet tall. It has a huge burned cave on the uphill side of its base taking a third of the base of the tree at ground level and extending up to a height of about 30 feet. It also has a thinner burned crease continuing up above that to about 70 feet. The tree is one of the larger surviving ones in the grove after what seems like an approx 50% mortality from the windy fire if you hike down the creek.
