The Proclamation Tree is 26.3 feet in diameter level at the high side ground, has a perimeter of 82' 6", and is nearly 250 feet tall. It has an open area under its basal buttresses that is perfect for posing for pictures, which is good since it is located right at the entrance of the Trail of 100 Giants. It was named for the speech made by President Clinton there explaining the legislation creating the Giant Sequoia National Monument.
