Crescent Meadow Flare, Giant Forest
This tree has a huge flare to its base and one of the largest ground perimeters of any tree, bigger than many larger champion trees. This exaggerated flare is often found in sequoias growing in very wet areas. It has approx 110 feet in ground circumference. It is 27.9 feet in diameter level at the high side ground, 20.1 feet in diameter at chest height, and 229 feet tall. This tree has starred in many old photographs and looks very much the same as it did in the oldest of them.
