Heart Tree, Alder Creek
The Heart Tree in Alder Creek is named for the heart-shaped mark in the bark halfway up one of its sides (see below pic). The tree is 20.7 feet in diameter level at the high ground point, 17 feet diameter at chest height, and 170 feet tall. It has a large basal fire scar, and its bole is broken off at approximately 120 feet up; otherwise, it would score somewhat higher on the volume list. At the 120-foot-high point, where it is broken off, it is still over 12 feet wide.
