Rattler Tree, Freeman Creek Grove
The Rattler Tree has a huge base that is 23.6 feet in diameter level at the high side ground, flaring down to 20 feet in diameter at just over chest height, and it is 237 feet tall. It is listed in Flint's book as a "large tree" and is named the Rattler in honor of both the rattle-like top of its dead crown and the snake we once encountered at its base.
This peculiarly topped tree has now also passed from the living in the 2020 Castle Fire. Below is a pic as of july 2022.
