#97 Proclamation Tree, Long Meadow Grove
The Proclamation Tree is 25.8 feet in diameter level at the high side ground, has an exposed perimeter of 91' 6" since the windy fire, a DBH of 19.5' and is nearly 250 feet tall. It has an open area under its basal buttresses that is perfect for posing for pictures, which is good since it is located right at the entrance of the Trail of 100 Giants. It was named for the speech made by President Clinton there explaining the legislation creating the Giant Sequoia National Monument.
