The Original Dean Tree is a mere 15 feet in diameter level at the high side ground, 14 feet in diameter at chest height, and 216 feet tall--a big tree but not a champion. It is notable, however, for having the name Dean carved into it by an early pioneer. It's unclear if this tree was the one Flint was thinking of when he named the other Large Dean Tree nearby or if Dean carved his name in more than one sequoia.
