This tree is 17.3 feet in diameter level at the high side ground, 16 feet in diameter at chest height, and 214.5 feet tall. It is right next to the 180 and the first really large tree you see coming up into the grove. It's base is burned most of the way around, only about a quarter of it still has bark, really its a wonder it still exists. The tree is named for Nanette LaChance, the sister of Jackie Weiner, former park ranger and author of Timely Exposures.
