The Law Tree is 24.4 feet in diameter level at the high-side ground, 21.3 feet DBH, 80 feet 8 inches in circumference, and 250 feet tall, and it stands, appropriately, just behind the Senate Group. Having become friends with Mike Law, coauthor with Wendell Flint of the sequoia-hunters' bible, "To Find the Biggest Tree," we thought there was a need for a Law Tree somewhere near the Senate. This large and imposing specimen is an old monarch in an area densely populated by large and small sequoias alike, as you can see from the above view. It, amongst other monarchs, presides over one of the most closely packed areas in the already preeminent Giant Forest Grove.
