#32 Great Goshawk, Freeman Creek Grove
The Great Goshawk Tree is 28.5 feet in diameter at the ground, 23 feet diameter at chest height, and 255 feet tall. It was inventoried in 1935 as the largest tree in the grove, and Flint measured it in 1990. There is no trail to this tree, and it is a couple-mile walk there from the nearest road. When we went looking for it, we did not get to it until our fourth attempt.
