#13 Column, Giant Forest
The Column Tree is 29 feet in diameter at the ground, 23 feet diameter at chest height, and 244 feet tall. It was first noted as a large sequoia in 1950 by Wendell Flint, but he did not properly measure it for volume until 1995. Flint was probably surprised to find it was bigger than the nearby Pershing Tree, because he originally referred to it simply as the Near Pershing Tree.
