#6 Boole, Converse Basin
The Boole Tree is 36 feet in diameter at the ground, 25 feet diameter at chest height, and 269 feet tall. Its 113-foot ground perimeter is the largest of any sequoia that exists. It was named in 1895 for the superintendent of the Converse Basin Mill, Frank Boole, who championed sparing the tree despite the fact that the mill processed every other mature sequoia in the grove for lumber.
