I took a small group of cabin owners and sequoia hunter friends from the resort and showed them the way to the Arm Tree that I located last year. The hike was steep, but everyone agreed the tree was well worth the effort. It is one of the most spectacular sights to see here.
This tree is not the largest nor the tallest, but it has one quality that seems to ignite interest in everyone from the amateur tourist all the way up to the members of our scientific community: its exceptional appendage. Its top is composed of several limbs that would also be noteworthy if they were not overshadowed by the remarkable one that gives this tree its name.
