Although they live for a very long time, the sequoias are not independent of Mother Nature's forces. Some are afflicted with minor damage multiple times over the course of their lives until, like all of us, in the end they succumb.
Even in the century or so that we have been enjoying, naming, and photographing them, you will see many with visible changes, primarily due to fire events. This section is to remember those tree friends that our parents played amongst who may no longer be with us.
