The Adam Tree is 30 feet in diameter at the ground, 23 feet diameter at chest height, and 247 feet tall. It was discovered early in Mountain Home Grove's history and named in 1884 by Jesse Hoskins. The Adam Tree and Methuselah were each thought to be the largest tree in the grove at different times by local enthusiasts, the Adam Tree the majority of the time. Throughout most of the 1900s it was believed to be the largest; however, in the 1980s Wendell Flint and company searched out and found three trees larger than it within the grove.
